Help Support Rehab 23's Mission

We are an independent ALL VOLUNTEER organization dedicated to providing First Responders rehabilitation. It is a process of providing rest, rehydration, nourishment, and a place for medical evaluation to members who are involved in extended or extreme incident scene operations.

• Respond to an active scene. Examples: a fire, a vehicle accident, a law enforcement incident, etc.
• Provide support during training exercises.
• Provide support during events. Examples: NASCAR races, walks to support first responders, first responder funerals, National Night Out, etc.

Note: the average volunteer donates approximately 50 hours a year.

• Re-hydration using water or Gatorade and providing coffee, tea, etc.
• Calorie and electrolyte replacement using snacks and meals.
• Rest and recovery using covered area and chairs.
• Relief from climatic conditions using heated/air-conditioned vehicle.
• Cooling or re-warming using misting fans, A/C, blankets, cooling towels.
• Provide space on vehicle for medical monitoring, member accountability, and release.

• Must be at least 21 years of age, a resident of Tennessee, and a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to physically move freely in, out, and around the Rehab Unit.
• Must be able to lift up to 50#s on a regular basis.

Since our beginning in June 2013, REHAB 23 has responded to 100% of all calls for support to Wilson County First Responders. That is approximately 534 calls and totally approximately 16,460 volunteer hours to date. To maintain this enviable record requires more Volunteers from throughout Wilson County to offer their time and support. 

Currently REHAB 23 has approximately 50 members responding to all calls and support events.
